We just had 2AK to DXB. Not as good as 1AK but I'd still choose them over 4EF for privacy and the windows. You can have a hushed conversation across the aisle, but getting your partner's attention in the first place is the problem. Of course if she's looking nervously across during take-off it's fine for making some encouraging hand signs.

Because we weren't so close, I decided to eat in the buddy seat and it was surprisingly pleasant. Legroom under the table might be difficult if you're both tall; I'm reasonbly bulky and width was okay.

PS/OT: Our free stay at Al Qasr was upgraded to Dar Al Masyaf, especially nice as I was re-reading your review before we left. Totally agree with your sentiments!
