F seating: 2A/K or 4E/F ?

We are off to Mexico in F in three weeks time. Tough life, I know! When we flew to Dubai last year, our first trip in First, we took 4E/F. For our outbound to Mexico (a 12 hour flight, all in daylight) I have put us in 2A/K instead - on the basis that it would be nice to have a window for a flight that long.

However, I was intrigued by this quote in the F v Club thread:

Ms Raffles is the sort of woman who takes comfort in holding my hand during take-off and regularly asks me if the engines sound OK (as if I'd know!). Obviously neither are these are easily possible from 2A/K! However, she is also quite partial to a window. So, in general, what are the pros and cons of 2A/K v 4E/F for a couple?
