So I will be checking in at RIC on Wednesday and have one coupon for what will be two flights. With paper tickets, AA always staple the coupon to the back of the BP and the BP has "Valid only with Coupon" printed on the face of it. So what will they do in this case as there is only one coupon and 2 BPs?

Am I going to have problems checking in? Should I be doing something to mitigate problems at check in?
In the old days, some stations would use a rubber stamp on each boarding pass with the words: "Ticket lifted at ___". This enabled a check-in agent to issue boarding passes for connecting flights (AA only, not interline) at the originating airport. The appropriate flight coupons would only need to be processed by the first AA station.

Personally, I wouldn't be overly concerned as you have stated that the reroute has been documented. And who knows, it's even possible that the agent in RIC might still have the old stamp.
