I have a book in my carryon which has been there since at least September. Since then I've visited europe, asia (lots of times), australia (few times), south pacific, done a round the world (separate to the previous trips) - something like 200k flown miles so far (and about 20 countries)! I am determined I will read it, eventually.

At least I haven't (yet) bought another copy of the book forgetting I already had it (done that before more than once ).
