I certainly agree that it is not worth paying J fare to have the cars, but I am curious why a typical passenger would not use a car to and from both airports if it were provided?

If speed is the name of the game than for a morning arrival in LHR, the HEX gets you into London faster than being stuck in traffic on the road. While you may have a posh limo to pick you up, limos unlike black cabs cannot get onto the bus lane on the M4 and in London so if there is traffic, you just have to crawl like everyone else.
Just had my first limo transfer from LHR in Jan. Great car and service.
