Can't beat the Dominican for price/value.

Stay in either Punta Cana or Puerto Plata. Lot's to see and do and great 4-5 star hotel for cheap prices.

I've been 5 times to the Dominican and will go back again. In Puerto Plata I've stayed at:
- Jack Tar
- Flamingo Beach Resort (got married there)
- Riu Bachata
- Club on the Green

My fav is the Flamingo, second is the Riu Bachata.

I also stayed once in Santo Domingo but could not recommend it.
