I just had the following happen to me and thought of sharing this with you:

I am supposd to leave on Air Tahiti Nui BOS-JFK-PPT-JFK-BOS with my wife for 6 days and stay at our faorite resort (le tahaa). I have made my purchase online for $993 each in cattle class, oops i meant coach. For that price I decided to pull the trigger, and given that $3700 price tag for a half decent business class seat was out of the question I felt good about the purchase. Tix purchased 6 months in advance. 3 weeks before departure I (no contact from airline) find out that ATN has changed my departure date to the day b4 due to a "rescheduling". Infact, the day of departure PPT-JFK did not exist. Therefore it meant going either a day ahead or a day before.
I explained to Michelle in the LA office that this is not possible as I would have to reschedule myself everything from chopper rides, to hotels, to inter-island flights and forget about my last leg JFK-BOS etc. etc. etc. Michelle then offered to go via LAX on the day in question. However there is a chance that they might send me via JFK to BOS from LAX adding a leg. I will find out tomorrow the outcome as I had to FedEx in the tickets for them to re-issue new ones and once they get there in the morning I will know my fate.

Do you think I could be eligible for an upgrade? Or anything else?
I guess I could just suck it up and enjoy paradise....
