I stayed at the Sheraton in November; it was fine. Good service at the front desk. I was on the club floor and breakfast in the lounge was OK. There is a nice Bavarian restaurant attached to the hotel.
It's walking distance from the train station and faces old town (Gamla Stan).
One of the platinum amenity choices was a stuffed moose (The plush kind).
Hotel room had a balcony, wood floors. Room was not big, but was nice and simply furnished.
Edited to respond to note below, there is a small casino attached to the bar. The dealers told me many bars in Stockholm had small casinos (This had two blackjack tables and one roulette). Maximum stake was somethin silly -- $3 or $4. There is a large casino with a poker room in walking distance from the hotel, past the train station.
I found Stockholm to be very pleasant with everyone I encountered to be very friendly; English language skills was almost universal.
