My point was that DL has no non-stop service EWR-LAX, you have to connect, but they (DL) lowered the EWR-LAX fare to get at CO. I am hoping for retaliation from CO on DL's non-stop JFK-LAX.
DL selling EWR-LAX for $166 doesn't really hurt them because very few people probably buy EWR-LAX on DL. But having to match $166 hurts CO and their 5? non-stops EWR-LAX on which they are probably accostomed to selling seats for closer to the fares DL is currently charging non-stop JFK-LAX.
