I stayed at the JW last week in one of the newly renovated rooms. Decor is very pleasant with muted color unlike the prior decor. New beds and flat screen TV are very nice touch.
I prefer the JW over Metro Center because the JW has great views (from some of the rooms) and the concierge lounge is open on weekends.

Oh, and one thing I hate about many Marriotts and the JW is that many of the rooms have or had those adjoing room doors that are not insulated in any way and you can hear far too much from the next room. The renovated room I was in at the JW had a door that was insulated for sound. I didn't hear any noise from the next room. Don't yet know if that was because of the new soundproofing or just quiet neighbors. Time will tell.
