Staying back to back at the Metro Center and the JW. Both hotels are great. Both have/are currently going thru renovations.
Room size at the Metro Center is bigger than the JW. However, room decor, in my opinion, is better at the JW. JW's work desk are better designed than the standard rolling desk under desk at Marriotts. At Metro Center, only one outlet was available at desk level. At JW, there's an entire input console available (4 outlets, modem, CAT5, video inputs (I presume it's for the LCD TV)).
JW room service comes on a rolling table vs a tray at the Metro Center.
Both uses the same wide Kohler shower head.
In terms of service JW edges out over the Metro Center by a little.
In terms of location, if you need access to the Metro, the Metro Center can't be beat since it's on top of the Metro Center station. JW is about a 5 minute walk (1 avenue sized block and 2 regular sized block).
