Am looking at doing an open jaw (out on September 28th) flying to Miami, back from LAX.

Needless to say (just my luck...), availability to MIA on BA is really rather sad looking for September. Had thought about flying into MCO/TPA, but realised that both are served from LGW and not LHR... Since we live in the South West (and drive to the airport), flying out of LGW and into LHR seems like it would be a real pain...

So the best I can come up with (assuming we want to definitely go out on the 28th) is to fly LHR-BWI (BA), BWI-MIA (AA), (would then fly MIA-LAX AA anyway), LAX-LHR. Could fly into NYC, but would mean a HUGE (about 6 hours) layover in JFK.... not too desirable. The AA flights (in First - YUP I assume) are coming out at about £620 per person (BWI-MIA, MIA-LAX): don't fancy those flights in Y (ok, very spoilt...)

Are there any avenues of lateral thinking that I have not explored here...? Have any of you ever had a similar problem? Waht would you do?
