Maybe I'm missing something in this whole process.
I book from VCE- probably not a lot of aeroplanners here- so no chance of an AC "start" to my flight. The routings I booked last week are:
VCE-FRA Lufthansa Business
FRA-SIN Lufthansa First (of course...the FCT is a little bit fun!)
SIN-FRA Singapore First
FRA-VCE Lufthansa Business
Booked all on aeroplan.com- one call to the "special" toll free # with no svc charge. Ticket total cost: 17 CAD + 140k aeroplan miles
You can specifically chose * awards on the advanced options- maybe this will make things better?
