I flew out of St.Thomas, USVI (STT) in October on Delta and was warned multiple times to "ENSURE YOU ARE AT THE AIRPORT A MINIMUM OF THREE HOURS BEFORE DEPARTURE OR ELSE YOUR RESERVATION IS SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION". So accordingly, I turn up at 11am for the 230pm flight. There are about 100 others already waiting patiently in line, but no employees around. There was a sign at the counter saying that it is only manned from 1230pm to 3pm daily.

I was finally checked in around 1245pm. The entire check-in, customs and INS procedure took me the grand total of 6 minutes to complete. Needless to say, I was incensed at the time, but its hard to stay mad when you are in the beautiful Carribean so I let the matter drop!
