Although apparently AA isn't enforcing the 62" rule, a beancounter could realize this tomorrow and send a memo to all employees that it needs it to be enforced because of all the money they can make by doing this (same shortsighted argument used for sticking $25 fee on >50lbs bags on $8,000 F-class to London). After all, this would just fit the nickle and diming attitude of this airline.
CO wants your business and AA does not. The choice is clear.
