TG's crews are not universally good, I have experienced quite a few j flights recently on the new 346 and the crew have been very mediocre at best. By comparison SQ has consistently outstanding FAs and the Raffles product is well ahead of TGs Royal Silk. TGs seat is adequate but hard; it's a shame TG did not decide to be a product leader with their premium product. Ah well, the ROP program is very user friendly and upgrades, awards are easy to secure so I will remain a member and fly SQ. Bar bday awards, award flights, and Gold upgrades.
I have to agree with you on this. My best experiences by far have always been with CX. Although there is generally less interaction with the FAs on CX, IMHO the product is difficult to beat (although I haven't experienced Raffles). The business class menu (food & wine) on long haul has always been exceptional, the service thoughtful and efficient although lacking the warmth you often get on TG. My experience on their HKG to JFK direct flight was outstanding. If TG were able to complement their FAs with a consistently excellent product offer they would be top of the league. Alas the product frequently lets them down on this front.
