Marginal Service last night in C: IAD-CDG

Maybe I'm being picky, maybe it was some P.O.'d French FAs. I was on UA 914 last night out of Dulles - yeah WX was crappy, and we were about an hour late pushing back and then getting de-iced. But we got to Paris on time, so not so bad from that perspective. Here's what burned me:

I'm in my seat about 40 miknutes before scheduled departure, holding my overcoat in my lap - I figure an FA will be by shortly and can hang it up for me instead of sticking it in the overhead. After sitting there for about 20 minutes, I finally walked up and asked an FA if he could hang it up - all he said was "I need your boarding pass!" and it wasn't the most courteous tone. To sum it up, there was ZERO preflight drink service (juice, water, etc.) I was in my seat over two hours before anyone asked if I wanted something to drink - it wans't just me - it was the whole business cabin.

Did I miss something?

At least things picked up a bit once the meal service started. Not sure if it was the FAs from France or what - but I was dissapointed.
