I find it interesting that the individual who expressed disbelief at the story was a flyertalker with fewer posts than those who "believe" the story.
Those of us who have been around flyertalk awhile are not pushovers for a sob story, but they also recognize that you don't need to be skeptical of a story just because it is awful. It does make me sad when the first reaction to a painful account is skepticism. It seems so cold, and uncaring.
Almost as if to say, "I don't care about what happened to the dog... because I don't believe it happened at all."
"And if you want me to care at all, you'll have to prove it to me."
"And since you can't prove it to me, then, well, it just didn't happen. So there!"
This account is so full of detail and passion that it really is believable, to me. And it's believable because the shipping of pets has always been a nerve wracking process, fraught with danger.
There is an airline trying to start-up which would permit pets to be brought into the cabin with their travelling companisions. I've got the feeling that they could actually be successful.
