My take on weather issues in general: everyone loses. Fixed costs remain and reaccommodation issues seriously eat into any potential savings on variable costs. Thoughtful schedule reductions can save money. Random wholesale cancellations that must be dealt with through reaccommodation, mess up aircraft positioning causing a chain reaction, etc. would not.
