I'm glad I crossed this thread, I was just about to cancel my Platinum Skymiles card. I started using my corporate card and just dont need to be billed 135, that's up for renewal in a month or two. We'll see if cancelling it nets anything.
AMEX have waived the fee 3 of the past five years for me. I simply pointed out to them that I charge over $75,000 a year to the card (mostly work related) and that 3% of that is more than $135 and they agreed. The other two times it was not waived was b/c I didn't feel like being too greedy. Good Luck.
