I am not sure what category of hotel this would fall under (either B&B or boutique), but the Balboa Bay Club in newport beach had the best hotel bed I have ever experienced. Beyond all the requisites that every hotel has nowadays, what made this stand out was that it was a California King. It was the biggest bed I have ever seen in a hotel, and it was a joy
