The double bonus is bonus miles not platinum points (EQM). It is double the base (actual) flight miles.
It's late, but if I'm not mistaken, your fare class will project a percentage on your actual flight miles prior to receiving the 2 points per mile.
If you fly in economy on any discount, you will not earn 2 points for each base mile. You will be earning 2 points X 50% or 70% of the base.
