In case you're one of those women who found your mammogram extremely painful, you should know that it's not because you're a wimp. It's the technician. Having had many, many of these, I know that the pain level can range from that-was-it? to I'm-going-to-die. I figured that out after having the same tech several years in a row. She was oh-so-nice, but she clearly believed in the no-pain-no-gain school of medicine. This year, I deliberately scheduled my appointment at a different facility (so there would be no chance of getting the same woman), and I must say, it was worth it. This procedure doesn't have to be torture.
