Even though I've never used a Motel 6 I believe it to be the closest thing to a UK Travelodge. Having used a Travelodge a few years ago I can say that they are clean, safe and quite comfortable. The clientele is probably what you would find in a Motel 6 too. The only issue I remember was idiots running up and down the corridors but I've had that happen in an omni so I guess it pot luck as to whether it happens on your stay. At £10 a night it really is exceptional value, IMHO.
