Maybe, but I have an AMEX credit card which gets me mebership rewards. These are very useful for topping up other schemes - just been able to transfer some points across for a Hilton stay and also ensure I have enough for a decent KLM award (is that an oxymoron ). I'd struggle to justify the fee for the BA/AX card and know you can jump through hoops etc, but what i've got right now works for me...

Also, thus far i've always had enough points for our needs - one or two WTP->J upgrades each year across the pond, and the BA availability is a bit lame when compared to other schemes, certainly when heading East, so I think at the moment I've got it cracked with this diversified approach. As swiss junior grows up, this may well change, but by then you'll be earning your BA miles at Aldi...
