I think you would save time if you travel Berlin-Munich-Zürich-Venice instead of Berlin-Zürich-Munich-Venice.

If you travel by train from Berlin to Zürich you will most likely have to change train in Munich as it's right in between, so that means having to go back and forth between Munich and Zürich twice.
