Is it really worth $30/day? For the typical lounge experience I've experienced at other hotels, I definitely would not be paying for that. I already have internet access with my Verizon wireless card. And since I'm usually travelling more on business than for vacation, with expensed meals, I don't really need a free continental breakfast or evening hors d'oeurves. It is convenient at times, but not something I'd pay an extra (non-expensable) $30/day for.

But my question was actually, it like this for RAs at all Intercontinentals, or just the Mark Hopkins?

What this scenario reminds me of is how some airlines fly with the FC cabin empty (requiring everyone to either pay additional $ to purchase upgrades), while some airlines use the opportunity to upgrade their frequent customers. Which one makes more business sense?
