Hotmail - you may only use OE if you pay for it:

Yahoo - you must pay for MailPlus:

Earthlink - should work fine.
Comments about how to send are mostly correct - you'll need to enter proper settings for the SMTP servers and ports for earthlink and yahoo when you set them up. Hotmail you won't need SMTP server settings, i believe.
