In theory, you should be provided "priority standby" per *A Gold benefits. I would check and recheck with the agent to make sure that you're both given that benefit because you're on the same PNR.
As for the RCC at IAD, they usually don't count the Canadian flights as int'l for the purpose of RCC entry. However, you should have no problem entering the MLL IME.
