My girlfriend and I are planning on going to South Africa in September, hopefully flying BMI using miles gained from the credit cards. I understand that we can get return business class flights for 75000 miles or 37500 miles plus £255 (plus taxes). If we both apply for the 2 credit cards, we will hopefully get 40000 miles each, which will be a great start. Could someone please advise:
1. Are Diamond Club seats restricted on BMI flights? If so, typically how long in advance would we need to book business class return flights to SA (Cape Town)?
2. The BMI site says "Apply for a bmi credit card today and you could receive a flying start of 20,000 destinations miles". Does "could" really mean "will" or do they sometimes refuse to give some/all of the miles?
3. If my parents both applied for both cards, would we be able to transfer the miles that they are given to my Diamond Club account?
