It's been reported here that people can do that...again it depends on the level of the inconvenience (even with a 25 minute change resulting in, say, a 25 minute longer layover, I would think not). If a flight were 15 minutes earlier, causing a connection violation and they moved the onward flight to the next one, day 4 hours later...that's more likely. It's always worth a try, of course...if one wants the cancellation or change anyway .
