Several times a year we fly LAX/SLC with our Golden (95lbs) - and in the past check in has been easy - dog and dog carrier. Have there been any changes since 911 that I should be aware of either Delta Specific or at SLC or LAX. Many thanks in advance....

Ask, I think you will have to take your dog out of the carrier in SLC while it is run through the new "super-duper" luggage x-ray machine.
EVERY piece of checked luggage must go through it. And, now that I think about it, I have seen people near it with dogs on leashes recently.
