We had a car...

We picked up a car at the Cavalieri Hilton and drove to the Sorrento Hilton. We drove to the Amalfi coast, I believe 4 different days. Any time we spent in Hilton, we walked from the hotel. The walk wasn't bad at all, but I wouldn't want to do it with luggage.

We drove to Ravello, Positano and Amalfi. Everyday we wanted to go back and drive a little further. It was awesome with breathtaking views. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Please don't go to Sorrento w/out visiting the Amalfi Coast. We also took a ferry to Naples...which I would not recommend. We should have gone to Capri instead, but oh well. That was probably the only thing we would have differently.

I have heard incredible comments about Sorrento's lounge. Unless it has changed, don't get your hopes up too much. They basically had nuts/chips out for evening...and I passed on the red wine (tasted like vinegar to me). We didn't even go up there after the 2nd evening. I remember seeing a couple in the lounge that was REALLY complaining about the food (lack of) in the lounge.

Breakfast was better though. You got to order eggs off a menu and you can order a latte, which was great! Service was very good and so were the breads. On the 2nd morning, we started leaving 5 euros for a tip and the service was FABULOUS from there on out.

There are so many great restaurants in Sorrento. Enjoy! We loved it there!
