If you cannot change your flight to get into DCA, I recall there is a bus service between IAD and the end of the Orange Metro line. Runs every half hour or so, fare is about $2 though it may also provide a transfer onto the Metro for a dollar or so more. The Orange line runs right to McPherson Square which I believe is the stop nearest the Hamilton. Check out the IAD website for ground transit information, or the Metro website.
