Though I wouldn't call it livery for an investment bank, I certainly thought Credit Suisse copied Cathay Pacific. In fact, the first time I saw it, I thought, "That looks just like Cathay Pacific." The font itself is so similar as to be practically identical, and not just by virtue of both companies electing to use SmallCaps. The color for Credit Suisse is a bit more blue than CX, but they're plainly from the same family of pale blue-green colors. The double triangles for Credit Suisse look like a jib and that sail in front of the jib on an old sailing ship (someone who really sails help me out here), but apart from CS being convex/CX being concave and the logos facing opposite directions, the overall impression sure looks a lot like the birdwing/Chinese character in CX's livery. And the photograph used in some of CS's print ads (guy washing floor-to-ceiling windows with south-facing view of Manhattan's skyline) could just as easily be a kid in an airport terminal playing with a model airplane. Plus, there's a red stripe under the photo, which looks like the red accent stripe in CX's livery.
Braniff, I'm with ya. CS and CX logos: same same but different.
