I wasn't aware of the MPM issue; I'm looking at UA's *A award PDF and it mentioned nothing about it.
Ah well, thanks all. I guess it's time to ask in the UA forum now.
Why do you have to do a paid tix from BHM or HSV to EWR? It should be included in the StarA awards right? Remember though, using UA miles for StarA award means that you can not change the return dates once travel commences.
