For those who're not 100% familiar with IAH layout, it's wise to print a terminal map off continental.com or tear out the page from the inflight magazine. For certain C/D/E gate-transit, you may be better off taking the TerminaLink between C&E; and for others it's better to walk. Hard to know which is better unless you have a map in hand.

And even for someone who uses IAH a lot, unusual things can still happen. For example, my last flight from EWR came in to D-11 or D-12; they're probably pulling that 762 for maintenance. I called my pickup to meet me at Terminal D (I have no checked bags); but if I had looked at the terminal map, I would have known that I should have told my pickup to meet me at departure level of Terminal E instead, as that's closer, and we can exit the airport faster from E than from D.
