You'll learn that the heavy users of this forum

hate what others only dislike. Most are either New Yorkers or Texans, both known to have, shall we say, larger-than-life opinions of themselves. Allow me to convey some Midwestern sensibility.
As a CLE flyer, I end up in 757s a lot. Are they as nice as 767s or 777s (or 747s, for that matter!)? No, for the reason previously stated. But they are
not as bad as the vociferous ones here would make out. While they scream bloody murder about a 6-hour flight to Europe in a narrow body, they only grumble about a 6-hour narrow-body flight to California. Why? Well, because one
can get wide-body flights transatlantic, but not (or only very exceptionally) transcontinental. And the big babies here don't like it when they don't get what they want. So, they denigrate a fine aircraft that has its uses—such as permitting me to get on a plane in CLE and walk off of it in LGW. ^ Sure, I'd rather do that in a 767, but that isn't happening. In short, don't upset a good friendship over this. The 757 is a fine aircraft and you are saving money flying on it. Rest assured.
As for how your friend changed your ticket, I have done it for friends myself—even going so far as canceling tickets! All CO wanted to know was the name of the flyer and the confirmation number. Armed with that information, I could do anything.
