The problem with E- front rows on the 747 is that they tend to fill up with people far quicker than the E+ cabin (at least from my experience). On my last flights, i changed out of row 32 for the second E+ row, and wound up getting the whole middle to myself ^ , while the E- rows were full. Of course it depends on the route and LF on that flight anyway.
