Here is the deal. CO generally has fewer delays at its hub (barring weather problems at the hub itself) than any other US carrier. CO has sophisticated trip interruption software that actually works extremely well. That necessitates the 3 gate changes, but hopefully your flights left on-time.
One day, there was a major snowstorm up and down the East Coast. Due to the large number of flights into IAH from the East Coast, I expected delays out of IAH to basically everywhere. However, I got to IAH and, guess what, virtually every flight was on-time -- even those going to the East Coast. This software must be doing one heck of a good job for CO. ^
