Sure, gold is gold, and platinum is platinum....
We don't ask about a lounge access irrespective of airline for gold members, but for plats... Remind you that BA offers this facility to all gold executive club members, but gold with EC is more like plat with FB.

I was in Mauritius last week, and was invited to acces the MK lounge (used by AF) after a AF flight from Paris, and before an one hour flight for Reunion Island. For me, It was more an arrival lounge than a departure one, so, I can't say about the policy...
But, in MRU, with plat card, you have access to the first class lounge when you travel in business, or eco... like with BA gold EC card.
The lounge is shared by all the company: MK, AF, BA and others, It could explain...
