so even if you use your US issued visa in europe, you still can contest and refuse to pay the credit card fee portion of the charge.
I think you'll find that this only applies to US merchants, it used to be like this in the UK (in the good old days!). It's possible your US card issuer will remove the charge but it would most likely be at their expense.
