Sounds like your phone may not be set up to accept the equivalent of cookies for a phone browser correctly or that it is prematurely deleting them from what you say about it logging you out.
You can set your preferences for FT Wireless with the Opera browser, it has built in Wap support:
http://www.opera.com/ so you can view the wireless version of FT using that browser on your desktop or laptop computer and set your prefs that way.
