There is a major international terminal construction project at MIA right now.
The walking time between terminals is 12 to 20 minutes depending on where you going back and forth from - there are even signs with arrows that say
TERMINAL E ---> 18 MINUTES WALK
and the like. Good luck. Going both ways through MIA to Barbados this month and just hoping for the best. I was 'treated' to a 15 minute hike on the way back through MIA in December from the Caribbean.
