Get of the Terminal. You don't want to spend 8 hours there even if you have access to the MLL.
Check the
www.gtaa.com site, the operators of the airport. It has links to transportation off the airport.
There is a Downtown Express bus that leaves each terminal every 20 minutes and leaves downtown every 20 minutes
www.airportexpress.com I think. It is about $28 return or $16 one way. Leave most major hotels downtown - check the schedule.
The next alternative is the Go bus (
www.gotransit.com) that will take you to either Mississauga Mall (Playdium - Megaplex of Video Games) or Yorkdale Mall. Both Malls are quite large, Yorkdale has access to the Subway system. Both are about 20 minutes on the Bus. From Yorkdale Mall it is another 20 minutes downtown on the subway. Both Go bus rides are about $3.80 each way and the Subway ride is another $2.00 each way. Buy bulk tickets they are cheaper.
The last option is the "192 Red Rocket" a public bus that departs each terminal and runs (20 minutes) the the Kipling Subway station. It is another 45 minutes to an hour to downtown. The benefit of this is the fare is only $2.00 - $2.50, and the schedule is prette frequent. The downside is it takes a while to get downtown.
You will not have time logisitcally to do the Zoo, Canada's Wonderland, Ontario Place, or the Ontario Science Centre - just because of Logistics. Downtown is possible, either of the malls are possible. Downtown, you have skydome, CN tower, ACC, all at Union Station Subway stop or Eaton Centre and Yonge Street shopping at Dundas or Queen Street Subway stop. Arrange to meet for a 5:30pm departure back to the Airport and you will be fine.
