The new transponder system might have been the cause of the problem. I know that the MBTA buses that seem to have the most problems with their destination signs are the ones with the spiffy GPS-aided automated stop announcements, not the ones where the driver has to make their own announcements. New systems can be like that until the folks who maintain them get used to the quirks. (IOW, this is not necessarily a reflection on DL's maint guys--new stuff usually breaks.)
