Who else flies LAX-AKL-MEL beside NZ? Are there enough demand for LAX-AKL-LAX, MEL-AKL-MEL, and LAX-MEL-LAX with a connection at AKL to justify restarting this service? I would think it's better than doing the extension to MEL from SYD if UA is not allowed to pick up/drop off additional pax between SYD and MEL.
