I'm nearly the same timezone as Singapore (2.5 hrs behind). So its fairly easy for me to login as soon as the clock shows 48 hours before my flight time. That way I always get a bulkhead or exit row.
And then, at least the last two or three times I've used the damn thing, SQ changed the flight so that I wound up getting an ordinary aisle seat instead of an exit row
