Rest assured, there is no doubt about my going. My friend in Thailand will kill me if I don't show up. I agree about Bangkok being safe. Even at the anti-Thaksin rally, the danger isn't about violence being
aimed at foreigners but of foreigners being caught between opposing forces if trouble does break out. So if I were in Bangkok, I would schedule my tour of the Grand Palace or Wat Phra Kaeo for a day other than February 4.
