I know some states would consider you as a resident after 30 days. Unfortunately, you need to stay for 90 days or more in NJ and NY to be exempt from sales tax and occupancy fee/tax. It amounts to more than 20% for NYC.

I don't know the rate for Atlantic City. After 90 days, you are considered state
resident and apartment rentals are exempt from tax/fee.
